READ. VOICE. FREEDOM.

Digital books without borders.

Iqra Publishing House & Media is an independent, women-led publishing and media platform dedicated to amplifying literary, visual, and contemplative voices from the Middle East, Central Asia, and the global diaspora.

Based in San Francisco with a global reach, Iqra Publishing House & Media serves readers, artists, and cultural institutions seeking work that bridges East and West, tradition and modernity, silence and expression.

Iqra Publishing exists at the confluence of literature, art, and contemplative inquiry. Our work is guided by slowness, ethical presence, and meaningful relationship—each project held as shared stewardship, with care for authorship, creative rights, and the integrity of the creative process.

Iqra’s Mission

Rooted in the original meaning of Iqra—to read, to recite, to know—our work honors storytelling as both cultural memory and living presence. We publish books and media that hold depth without spectacle, beauty without erasure, and truth without reduction.

We intentionally welcome voices that move beyond prevailing literary trends—including work often overlooked, misunderstood, or declined by mainstream publishing spaces. We especially encourage women and men across the world whose voices have been shaped by displacement, cultural erasure, censorship, or lived oppression. We publish not for speed or scale, but for resonance, depth, and lasting cultural contribution.

Iqra is not just a publishing house.

It is a listening field.
